{"id":228,"date":"2019-06-16T10:27:19","date_gmt":"2019-06-16T10:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cagrioner.com\/etkiniz\/?page_id=13"},"modified":"2026-05-06T22:37:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T19:37:37","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/etkiniz.eu\/english\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"WHAT IS ETKINIZ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2>WHAT IS ETKINIZ?<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Etkiniz is a European Union programme dedicated to supporting civil society organisations (CSOs) involved in <b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"109\">human rights monitoring and advocacy<\/b> in T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Financed under the <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"19\">Civil Society Facility (CSF 2019)<\/b>\u2014the EU\u2019s primary instrument for strengthening civil society in candidate countries\u2014Etkiniz launched its third phase in <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"172\">January 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">The overarching goal of the Etkiniz EU Programme is to strengthen the role of CSOs in promoting and protecting human rights at various levels by expanding their monitoring and advocacy capacities.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Our Core Objectives:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Strengthening the <b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"18\">sustainability<\/b> of human rights monitoring activities.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Enhancing the <b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"14\">quality and quantity<\/b> of human rights monitoring reports.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Developing essential <b data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"21\">expertise, methodology, and technical skills<\/b> for effective monitoring.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Increasing access to and impact within <b data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"39\">European and international human rights frameworks<\/b> and mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Fostering <b data-path-to-node=\"12,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"10\">dialogue opportunities<\/b> to improve the overall human rights monitoring environment.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Raising public awareness regarding the <b data-path-to-node=\"12,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"39\">monitoring value and pivotal role<\/b> of CSOs in protecting human rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Etkiniz provides expert support to CSOs to help them document human rights conditions in T\u00fcrkiye, facilitate multi-stakeholder analysis, and launch advocacy campaigns calling for better alignment with international human rights standards. Since its inception in 2019, the programme (officially titled <i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"301\">&#8220;Etkiniz EU Programme for Monitoring Human Rights in T\u00fcrkiye&#8221;<\/i>) has contributed to a significant increase in the number of organisations conducting systematic human rights monitoring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT IS ETKINIZ?
