10 December is celebrated as the Human Rights Day, since 10 December 1948, when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted. After the World War II, states have agreed on safeguarding individual rights and freedoms. Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been prepared by the United Nations Human Rights Commission in June 1948, and it was adopted by the UN General Assembly Session in Paris on 10 December 1948.
