We invite representatives of CSOs working in the field of human rights and environment to meet international experts!
The Etkiniz EU Programme’s ninth webinar with international experts on human rights mechanisms, titled “Human Rights and Environment for CSOs”, will be held on February 18th 2022. UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Environment Dr David R. Boyd will convey the steps of CSOs in bringing their work on human rights and environmental issues or urgent action applications to special rapporteurs and how CSOs can use them in their advocacy work.

- Understanding international human rights mechanisms as advocacy tools,
- The use of these international human rights mechanisms to hold governments accountable for their actions or inaction.

Who is David R. Boyd?
David R. Boyd was appointed as the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment commencing in 2018 and was recently re-appointed for another three-year term. He is a professor of law, policy, and sustainability at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and the author of ten books.

After joining the meeting, click the “World” icon for simultaneous interpretation, which is found at the Control Panel (under the Zoom window). (The main language of the will be English.)
Things to consider during the meeting
- The maximum number of webinar participants is 500. In case more than 500 people register for the webinar, the system will allow the first 500 people to join at the time of the event.
- Pelin Baykan from Anlatan Eller Derneği (Telling Hands Association) will interpret in sign language at the meeting.
- You can send us your written questions by clicking the Q&A icon in the webinar control at the bottom of the Zoom window. Verbal questions will not be allowed at the webinar. Written questions will be compiled and conveyed to the speaker.
- Before the webinar begins, please remember to check that you have an uninterrupted internet connection and that your headset has no problem with sound transmission.
